Overindulgence

Neck deep in bucket
Of sadness,
Drenched in gallon of tears,
I rush to stroke the mountains
Of hope,
And fall into a swamp
Of darkness.

I stand and stumble into
Hurdles of ordinary beings,
Stuffing a cake of regrets
With a wine of guilt,
I muster to collect chunks
Of fallen dreams.

Clutching the flowers
Of aspirations in
Swollen hands,
Fearing the destiny,
I stab my flesh
With a dagger of reality.

Hallucinating an oasis
Of fairy tales,
Bruised but alive,
I close my eyes
And realise
Love is the only way
And you are my paradise...

Home

A leaking bucket
A slippery tile
A pile of half used soaps
In a broken soapcase.
A clogged kitchen drain
A greasy frying pan
A collection of old china
In a jammed showcase.
A groaning mattress
A molded pillow
A perforated bedsheet
With turmeric stains.
A riotous fan
A lurching sofa
A fissured flower pot
On a patchy staircase.

Stale jokes bursting
Through cracks,
Jaded conversations
Piled up on racks,
Mundane musings
Swinging on hangers,
Silly fights echoing
In rapturous corners.

I dwell in our nest of
Imperfections,
Dream in a cesspool
Of misconceptions.
I touch you through
Hazy reflections,
And kiss you daily at
Blurry cross-sections.

A love poem

Sense lost in shadow-play
Dragging my feet by the bay
I yearn for a tide
To grope me inside
Drenched in my incapacities
Feeding on shreds of sanity
I long to fathom the oceans
Of innumerable carnal notions

I read a thousand love poems
Across centuries
Beyond boundaries
Of lovers longing for love
Calmly waiting for love
Of lovers budding in swarms
Merrily dying in arms
Of lovers after the act
Fiercely crushing the pact
Of lovers in destitute
Sometimes soaked in gratitude
Of lovers mesmerized
Alive but paralysed

Each story is personal
All characters special
I fail to find my love
In this lyrical universe
Eventually I compose
A couplet of remorse
A ballad of old words
The search continues
Of a parallel cosmos
The night is long
And the days few
But I promise you
A love poem in lieu..
